Composer/Producer

Isabelle Engman is a Swedish-American composer working across film, television, and contemporary production. Blending orchestral craft with modern sound design, she creates distinctive sonic worlds guided by story and character.

Isabelle Engman is a Swedish born composer working across orchestral film scoring and contemporary music. With roots in pop, jazz, and Swedish folk music, her early influences shaped a musical language grounded in melody, rhythm, and texture — a foundation that also later evolved into orchestral writing. Her work remains centered on soundscaping and world-building, creating distinct sonic identities that serve each project’s narrative. After a decade in Los Angeles, she now works internationally between the United States and Scandinavia, bringing together Scandinavian sensitivity and Hollywood production experience in her music.

Her music is driven by structure, narrative psychology, and a refined orchestral sensibility — balancing modern texture with classical craft. Whether writing for symphonic forces or sculpting hybrid sound worlds, Isabelle approaches each project as a carefully constructed emotional arc.

An award-winning composer and producer, she has collaborated with leading studios and platforms including Netflix, Amazon, Sony Pictures, Max and Microsoft. Her scores have been recorded at iconic Los Angeles studios including Warner Brothers Studios, EastWest Studios and Capitol Records.

Her recent work includes the international documentary Alfred Nobel & Bertha von Suttner – The Price of Peace (SVT/ARTE), the French ARTE documentary Moitessier about legendary sailor Bernard Moitessier, and The Gold Panner from Lannavaara for Swedish Television.

She composed the score for the Amazon/Blumhouse Productions feature film Madres, directed by Ryan Zaragoza, and the documentary Only in Theaters, directed by Emmy Award-winner Raphael Sbarge. Her earlier feature work includes Cinderella and the Secret Prince, directed by Lynne Southerland (Mulan II)

Parallel to her film career, Isabelle has built a distinct presence in the trailer and contemporary production world. Her remix of Charli XCX’s “Von Dutch” was featured in the trailer for Ballerina, and her remix of James Blake’s “Like The End” appeared in the The Madness. Her music has been placed in major campaigns, theatrical trailers, and broadcasts including The Little Things and America's Got Talent, as well as for global brands such as Major League Baseball, NASCAR and Getty Images.

Isabelle began her Los Angeles career in game scoring with Microsoft and Somatone Interactive, and later worked in music preparation for composers including Junkie XL and Christopher Young. She was mentored by acclaimed game composer Garry Schyman (Middle-earth: Shadow of War).

A graduate of the University of Southern California with two master’s degrees in film composition, Isabelle is a recipient of the prestigious Zorn Fellowship from the Sweden-America Foundation.
